A Doula will :
- Provide education on childbirth techniques
- Help ease your fears
- Facilitate healthy relationships among the birth team
- Serve as an intermediary between the laboring woman and hospital staff when/if needed
- Help you gain confidence in your birthing choices
- Help reduce the need for a cesarean delivery by 40-60%
- Provide clarification on the myths verses the facts of birthing in hospital OR home
- Help guide and support the partner's participation
- Help establish a post partum team if desired
